One of my lifelong friends got married on Saturday. She looked absolutely stunning and the event was great...we could say that I might have had a little bit too much fun! Getting there and getting home was a different story - far from fun. We left our little one with her grandparents (and she too had some serious fun breaking all the rules). The drama started when we arrived at our connection in Philly only to have an email saying our next flight was cancelled. They put us on the next flight out...4 hours later. So we ate and I finished the book that I had brought for the weekend! Thankfully we found a Borders so I was able to buy another book and get started. We did arrive in Richmond regardless of how late it was, but unfortunately our bag did not. Think about what you need for a wedding: shoes, dress, suit, toiletries - yea, all in the bag. We found a boutique and I was able to buy a new casual dress to wear out on Friday...this lost bag has now cost me $100 (book, dress, earrings)!!! Thank goodness our bag was in our room when we got back from the bar around midnight, but still...it was a costly inconvenience! My biggest issue is that the airline does nothing to compensate. I had to pay $30 to check the bag, and I feel like I should at the very least get that back. Travelling home today we had better luck with the airlines - no delays, cancellations, and our bag was waiting for us when we got off the plane. BUT how we felt was a different story and I'm the only one to blame!
While this has been mostly complaints, I would do it ALL OVER AGAIN to witness my dear friend marry her dream guy. Congratulations Maggie and Daniel...I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter!

Funniest Chick Ever
I am a big fan of Chelsea Handler. I started watching her show on E! (when I can stay up) and can't believe someone can be so funny. Oddly enough, my mom is the one who got me interested in her show. During the summers I'm able to dedicate more time to reading...since most of my tv shows have ended for the summer. I started my summer reading with Chelsea Handler's first book, MY HORIZONTAL LIFE: A COLLECTION OF ONE NIGHT STANDS. How anyone could put that much information about themselves out there is beyond me...but I'm so glad that she did! I found myself reading parts of the book out loud just so others knew what I was smiling about. Needless to say, I finished the book in a couple of days and immediately picked up her second book, ARE YOU THERE VODKA? IT'S ME, CHELSEA. Another job well done by Chelsea! As soon as her third book comes out in paperback, I'll read and review! My books are currently flying south to Maryland so that my sister can enjoy in the guiltiest of pleasures.

Cuse Chick Welcomes You!
First I should admit that I'm not a native 'Cuse chick. I've lived here for two years and I'm beginning to embrace all things 'Cuse! I work at Syracuse University, so that certainly helped. The weather can be wonderful for about 3 months out of the year, not a great ratio. It's important to find things to keep busy...for me, it's been reading and online shopping. I'm going to use this blog to discuss the books I've been reading (mostly chicklit...hence the blog title), and anything else that's relevant in a chick's life! Please post your comments and suggestions!
